Amazon adds seller surcharge
(CNN)–Certain items on Amazon could be getting more expensive.
The retailer is implementing a three-and-a-half percent fee to its fulfillment services.
Amazon calls it a “fuel and logistics related surcharge.”
It’s temporary to try to balance out higher fuel costs.
Amazon Fulfillment services provides third party sellers on the site with packaging and shipping services.
Those sellers will be the ones paying the surcharge.
But, most of them will likely pass it on to customers in the form of higher prices.
