Man sentenced for 2023 hotel standoff
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– A Charleston man will spend 25 years in prison after opening fire on law enforcement officers.
Officials with the 11th Circuit Solicitors Office say Jonathan Saylor was sentenced in connection with a shooting at a West Columbia hotel in 2023.
Investigators say in January of that year Saylor barricaded himself inside the Hilton Garden Inn on McSwain Drive following a domestic violence incident.
He’s accused of shooting at authorities from his hotel room.
Officials say Saylor was struck in the hip during the shootout.
