(CNN)–

Consumer spending rose 0.5% in February.

That’s up from a 0.3% increase in January.

The U.S. Commerce Department released a shutdown-delayed report Thursday, April 9.

The report also showed that inflation remained stubbornly higher than typical.

The Personal Consumption Expenditures Price Index climbed 0.4% from January.

The U.S. economy grew just .5% in the fourth quarter, ahead of the war with Iran.
