SLED confirms investigation into long-time State Representative Cobb-Hunter
Columbia, S.C. (WOLO)– Investigators with SLED say State Senator Harvey Peeler has requested the agency investigate allegations of misconduct involving Representative Gilda Cobb-Hunter.
In a letter to SLED Chief Mark Keel, Senator Peeler writes that allegations were made during a committee hearing that the representative had attempted to secure line-item appropriations that would directly benefit the representative or an entity closely associated with the member.
A SLED spokesperson says that investigation is ongoing.
In a statement to the South Carolina Daily Gazette, Cobb-Hunter denied any wrongdoing.
