1 dead, 1 charged after fatal Sumter shooting
SUMTER, S.C. (WOLO)– Sumter PD says one man is dead, and another has been charged after a fatal Sunday shooting.

Officers got a call about a shooting just before 3:45 p.m. on Sunday, April 12, at a Mitchell Street home.
Once at the home, officers found 42-year-old Jarmel Benjamin Ellis inside the home with a gunshot wound.
He was treated at the scene before being taken to Prisma Health Tuomey where he later died.
Police say an autopsy is scheduled for later this week.
The suspect who police identified as 33-year-old Devon Brown was inside the house with the victim when officers arrived.
Brown is charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime and was booked at the county detention center.
The investigation is ongoing.
