Six charged in Midlands trafficking conspiracy
Columbia, S.C. (WOLO)– According to the US Justice Department, a federal grand jury returned a multi-count indictment against six Midlands residents for their alleged roles in trafficking cocaine, crack, meth, fentanyl, and marijuana.
Officials say Lorenzo Blackwell, 27, Marquis Durant, 38, Marcus McConico, 37, Kalvin Singletary, 36, Perry Taft, 65, and Nikennia Carter, 34, were arraigned in federal court Wednesday.
All of the defendants are residents of Sumter and Bishopville.
Officials say the indictment stems from a Homeland Security Task Force investigation.
