Oil prices rise, but below $100

(CNN)– Oil prices are on the rise but still holding below the $100 mark.

Thursday, April 16, 2026, Brent Crude was trading around $96 a barrel while U.S. Crude was near $93.

Investors are growing more optimistic as signs point to progress in U.S. talks with Iran.

The White House says another round of negotiations could happen soon which may ease fears of a wider conflict.

That optimism is helping keep a lid on oil prices.
