Saluda High School holds Prom Promise Ceremony during prom season

SALUDA, S.C. (WOLO)– Prom season is here and officials are urging teens not to drink and drive.

 

Thursday morning, April 16, 2026, Saluda High School held a Prom Promise Ceremony.

This year’s theme is make memories not memorials.

Students ABC Columbia spoke with say it makes you think twice about getting behind the wheel after having a drink.

According to the SC Department of Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Services, 23% of high school students in the state admit to drinking alcohol.

Four percent of those surveyed say they have driven a car after drinking.
