Coworker fight leads to stabbing at Sumter business, deputies say
SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Sumter County deputies say a fight between coworkers led to a stabbing at a Sumter business.

As a result of the stabbing one person is being charged with attempted murder.
Deputies from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office responded to the report of a stabbing Tuesday afternoon, April 21, 2026, at a business on Cockerill Road.
The victim was located by deputies who worked to provide life-saving care until the arrival of emergency medical services, says the sheriff’s office.
The victim was taken to Prisma Health Richland Hospital for treatment.
The suspect who was identified as Dakota Allen Lee, 27, was arrested and charged with attempted murder.
He was taken to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center, where he is awaiting a bond hearing.
Law enforcement is still conducting an investigation into the case.
