Power bank recall reannounced

(CNN)– Officials are re-announcing an existing recall of a portable power bank because it continues to cause injuries.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission first recalled the Casely Power Banks Mag Safe wireless phone charger a year ago.

The problem is it can overheat, catch fire, and even explode.

51 such reports were filed before that recall.

Since then, there have been 28 new reports.

In one, a 75-year-old woman died from her injuries after the battery exploded in her lap.

Anyone who owns the power bank should stop using it immediately and contact Casely for a free replacement.
