RCSD: 2 arrested in connection with shooting that left 1 dead after crash investigation

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Richland Co. deputies are investigating a fatal shooting that happened Sunday night, says RCSD.

The sheriff’s department says on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at about 10:20 p.m., deputies responded to a reported vehicle collision with injuries in the 3800 block of Humphrey Drive.

When deputies arrived to the area, they located a vehicle that had hit a tree.

Also, deputies made entry into the vehicle and began rendering aid to an adult male.

EMS also arrived to the scene and while providing treatment, discovered the victim had sustained a gunshot wound to the upper body area.

Devante Walker, and Leroy Mclamore was arrested in relation to a shooting on Humphrey Drive that left one dead.

Investigators say after obtaining video footage and interviewing witnesses, investigators were able to determine the homicide suspects to be Walker and Mclamore.

On April 20, 2026, Devante Walker was taken into custody without incident and taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.

Walker was charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

Leroy Mclamore was arrested on April 22, 2026 and charged with the same offenses.

Mclamore was also taken to Alvin S. Glenn.

Both men remain in custody and are awaiting a bond hearing, according to Richland Co. Sheriff’s Dept.
