SC Congressman Ralph Norman raising eyebrows for comments made about riot at U.S. Capitol

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– South Carolina Congressman and candidate for governor Ralph Norman is raising eyebrows for comments he made this week regarding the January 6, 2021 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.

While speaking with reporters in Washington, Norman said January 6th was, “staged and made up”.

When asked to clarify, Norman conceded that there was a riot but that it was a self-made riot by people who hate Trump.

Approximately 140 Capitol Police officers were injured in the attack on the Capitol.
