CVS to add weight-loss options to drug plans

(CNN)– CVS is adding two weight-loss options to its drug plans.

CVS Health said it will start coverage of Lilly’s anti-obesity pill, June 1.

And it’s reinstating coverage of Eli Lilly’s weight-loss injectable Zepbound starting October 1.

The coverage will be on CVS Caremark’s standard template.

The prescription drug manager is used by employers and insurers who can choose to cover the preferred drugs for millions of Americans.

CVS Caremark will continue to offer Novo Nordisk’s Wegovy, which is a competitor with Zepbound.
