Forest Acres Police identify 2 found dead in relation to domestic violence homicide investigation

FOREST ACRES, S.C. (WOLO)– The Forest Acres Police Department released the identity of a man and woman killed in a domestic violence incident Tuesday, May 26.

Investigators say Annie Pushpanathan and Kenneth Benton were both killed in the incident.

Police say at around 3:40 that afternoon they responded to a home on Barnes Springs Road after they got a call from a concerned family member.

Inside the home they say they found Pushpanathan dead from an apparent gunshot wound.

Police say negotiators were able to convince Benton to surrender and discovered he also had a gunshot wound.

He was taken to the hospital where he died from his wounds Thursday, May 28.

Police say evidence indicates the incident was a murder suicide however the investigation remains open.
