Pedestrian struck and killed on Lake Edisto Rd. in Orangeburg

ORANGEBURG CO., S.C. (WOLO) – Highway Patrol says a pedestrian was struck and killed in a collision Monday night.
Troopers say it happened on Lake Edisto Road near the intersection with Airy Hall Drive.
According to Master Trooper William Bennett, at 9:33 p.m., the pedestrian was walking north in the southbound lane, when they were struck by a 2003 Nissan Altima travelling north.
The pedestrian was transported to the hospital and later died from their injuries, while the driver wasn’t hurt.
The Orangeburg County Coroner’s Office has not released the victim’s identity as of yet as the investigation continues.
