Deputies: One killed in Thursday morning shooting, coroner identifies person

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO) — Richland County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a deadly shooting incident in the area of Summit Ridge Drive.

Investigators say one person is deceased on Thurs, June 4.

Richland County Coroner Naida Rutherford has identified the person as Qwa’Maurie A. Deaver, 18, of Columbia.

Sheriff Leon Lott held a press conference at 1 p.m. on Thursday afternoon to address the shooting incident.

During the press conference, he addressed that the shooting was a deputy involved shooting with one person who died at the scene.
