Human trafficking, drug investigation underway in Lexington Co.

Lexington, Co., S.C. (WOLO)– Deputies with the Lexington Co. Sheriff’s Dept. say residents may see an increased law enforcement presence today.

Officials say Deputies along with the West Columbia Police Dept., SLED, and the Department of Homeland Security are conducting an investigation into drugs and human trafficking operations at several locations in the West Columbia area.

Deputies say there is no threat to the public at this time.
