RCSD: Shooting suspect charged with attempted murder

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Richland County deputies say a suspect is in custody in connection with a recent shooting.

Deputies say Elijah Banks is charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

According to investigators, on May 20 deputies responded to a shot-spotter alert near the intersection of Decker Boulevard and Plainfield Road.

Deputies say the victim was later found on 277 and taken to the hospital.

Officials say Banks is currently being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
