Speaker Johnson officially sends housing bill to White House
(CNN)– The countdown is on for Congress’ bipartisan housing bill.
Speaker Mike Johnson officially transmitted the “21st Century Road to Housing Act” to the White House Monday, June 29, kicking off a 10-day countdown.
The president can sign it or veto it.
But if he takes no action it will automatically become law after ten days.
Last week, the president caught both House and Senate leaders off guard when he suddenly refused to sign the housing bill until the “Save America Act” is passed by Congress.
The Save Act is a voter ID and proof-of-citizenship package.
