BMW completes $1.7 billion plant expansion

(CNN)– BMW Tuesday, June 30, unveiled its first fully-electric vehicle to be produced in the U.S.

Production of the new vehicle which is part of the automaker’s new fifth-generation x-five lineup is happening at a Plant Spartanburg, BMW’s largest plant in the world.

BMW also announced the completion of a $1.7 billion investment into its South Carolina operations which includes an expansion of Plant Spartanburg and construction of Plant Woodruff with both efforts supporting EV production.
