Irmo firefighters put out heavy fire at two-story home

IRMO, S.C. (WOLO)– Irmo firefighters say they responded to a Monday morning Bayside Road fire.

Just before 6:30 Monday morning, July 6, Irmo Fire responded to a residential structure fire in the 300 block of Bayside Road.

First arriving crews found heavy fire showing from a two-story home and extending to the vegetation around the house.

The occupant was able to escape unharmed, and the home suffered extensive damage.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, says Irmo Fire District.
