1 killed, 1 injured in head-on collision on Cane Savannah Road in Sumter

SUMTER CO., S.C. (WOLO) – Highway Patrol says one person was killed and another injured following a head-on collision Monday afternoon.

It happened on Cane Savannah Road near St. Paul’s Church Road at 2:32 p.m.

According to Master Trooper Mitchell Ridgeway, a 2017 Ford SUV travelling south crossed the center line, hitting a 2019 Hyundai SUV travelling north head-on.

Troopers say the Hyundai driver died on scene, while the Ford driver was injured and taken to the hospital.

The Sumter County Coroner’s Office has not released the victim’s identity as of yet, as the investigation continues.
