Lightning strike causes house fire on Hunters Pond Drive Monday night
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – Columbia firefighters say a lightning strike caused a house fire Monday night.
They responded to the home on Hunters Pond Drive after 10:20 p.m., where fire was seen coming through the roof and much of the second floor.
Authorities say the fire was extinguished, all residents safely escaped and no injuries were reported.
However, two adults and five kids were left displaced.
Firefighters say a neighboring home was also left with some damages due to the high heat.
