Walmart offers Summer discounts

(CNN)– President Trump is taking credit for Walmart’s summer discounts.

Monday, July 6, the president said the retailer lowered prices at his administration’s request to celebrate America’s 250th birthday.

But Walmart’s summer sale began about a week before the president’s Truth Social post.

The seasonal rollbacks include thousands of items for bar-b-ques, Summer road trips and pool parties that happen every year.

The discounts come as grocery prices overall are higher than a year ago.
