Third shift crews arrived to a Morninglo Lane home to find fire showing from three sides of the property on July 7.
After assessing conditions around the home, firefighters on engine 32 stretched hoses to two points of the structure and began extinguishing the fire through the kitchen window and gable vent, says Columbia-Richland Fire Dept.
The crew then went through the front door of the house and worked to prevent the fire from spreading further.
The fire was extinguished and the scene was brought under control, say firefighters.
The owner of the home escaped safely and no one was injured.
The fire was determined to have been caused by unattended cooking.
