SCDNR issues nearly 400 citations, removes 18 impaired boaters during holiday weekend
(WPDE) — Throughout the holiday weekend, the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) patrolled waterways to ensure the safety of everyone in the water. Officers were also committed to protecting the state’s natural resources.
As part of Operation Dry Water, officers removed 18 impaired boaters from the water over the three-day enforcement campaign. Authorities also issued 384 citations and 1,6088 warnings.
Officials say the results reflect both the dedication of the officers in enforcing safety as well as the cooperation of boaters, helping make the holiday weekend a safe and enjoyable time for everyone across the South Carolina waterways.
