Gov. McMaster to announce U.S. Senate appointment
Columbia, S.C. (WOLO)- According to the Governor’s Office, Gov. Henry McMaster will announce his appointment to fill the vacancy left by the passing of Sen. Lindsey Graham Monday at 4pm at the State House.
The governor says he also plans to reflect on the life and service of the late senator.
Senator Graham’s office confirmed his death early Sunday morning.
A preliminary report from the DC Medical Examiner’s Office shows the 71 year old suffered an aortic dissection as a result of heart disease.
That occurs when the inner layer of the aorta wall tears and causes internal bleeding.
