Sumter Police investigating fatal Saturday wreck

SUMTER, S.C. (WOLO)– Sumter Police are investigating a fatal wreck that happened on Saturday.

According to investigators, just before 5:30 p.m. on July 11, a vehicle veered off North Guignard Drive at Wactor Street and struck a brick wall.

Police say emergency responders took the driver to the hospital where he later died.

The Sumter County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the victim’s identity as the investigation continues.
