SLED charges Orangeburg County teen with murder after fatal shooting at SC State
ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) is charging an 18-year-old with murder after a fatal shooting at SC State, say officials.
Khamanti Lytrel Kennedy, 18, was charged with murder on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.
SLED agents say Kennedy was served in the Orangeburg County Detention Center, where he is currently being held.
Kennedy was previously charged with murder on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, by SLED in connection with the SC State University shooting on Thursday, February 12, 2026.
His charges stem from a shooting that occurred on the campus on Thursday, February 12, 2026, where two people were killed and one person was injured.
The incident happened inside a room in the Hugine Suites housing complex, according to SLED.
The deceased has been identified by the Orangeburg County Coroner as Henry L. Crittington, 19, and Terrell Thomas, 18.
