SLED charges Richland County man after fatal 2025 shooting at SC State

ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– SLED has charged a 19-year-old after a fatal 2025 shooting at SC State University, say officials.

Sc State University Held Law Enforcement Summit

Deon David Savage is being charged with possession of a firearm on school property, breach of peace-aggravated in nature, and pointing a firearm at a person.

SLED was requested by the South Carolina State University Department of Public Safety to investigate after a two shootings occurred in the evening on Saturday, October 4, 2025.

A woman was killed as a result of one of the shootings.
