Diesel tops $5 as gas prices continue to rise
(CNN)– U.S. energy costs are at a grim milestone.
The average price of diesel is back up to about $5 a gallon, according to AAA.
Most tractor-trailers run on it, so experts say the spike could put inflationary pressure on a long list of products.
This isn’t the first time during the Iran War that diesel has been this expensive but the price had subsided on hopes of ending the conflict.
Some experts warn gasoline soon could reach $4 a gallon.
AAA says the average cost of regular in South Carolina is $3.67 a gallon which is up seven cents from Wednesday, July 16.
