COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – Rep. Russell Fry announced early Monday morning that he will be running for the seat in the U.S. Senate that was once occupied by Senator Lindsey Graham.

Rep. Fry released the following statement on his Facebook page:

Too many South Carolina families are struggling to make ends meet. High gas prices and soaring grocery costs are hurting hardworking people.
We need a conservative fighter in the Senate who delivers real results. I will be your conservative MAGA candidate in the special primary Senate election this summer.
I’m ready for the fight, and I’m all in.

He joins a plethora of potential candidates who announced they’re running for the seat, including Rep. Ralph Norman, Mark Lynch, & Duke Buckner.

The filing period for candidates starts this Tuesday at noon and ends Tuesday, July 28 at noon.

The special primary for Sen. Graham’s seat is Tuesday, August 11.
