Growing list of GOP candidates for Special Primary Election to fill U.S. Senate Seat

Senator Darline Graham has announced she will run for her late brother's seat.

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)–In our vote 2026 coverage, the filing period for candidates for next month’s Special GOP Primary opens Tuesday at Noon and will close next Tuesday at Noon.

Senator Darline Graham has announced she will run for her late brother’s seat. This after being appointed last week to serve out the rest of Lindsey Graham’s term after his sudden passing.
President Donald Trump said he would endorse Graham if she decided to run.

Graham is not the only candidate to put her name in the hat.

Congressman Russell Fry, who represents South Carolina’s 7-th District, announced he will enter the special primary.
Other candidates who also confirmed they’re running, include U.S. Representative Ralph Norman, businessman Mark Lynch and Attorney Duke Buckner.
The winner will face Democratic candidate Dr. Annie Andrews in the general election November 3, 2026.
