Back-to-School events in the Midlands
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– As the Summer for students in the state begin to wind-down, there are back-to-school events being hosting around the Midlands.
If you are looking for back-to-school supplies, and events for kid-friendly fun before school start back look below:
ARISE CHURCH
Arise Church is hosting a Back-to-School Bash at Moore Park in Irmo this Saturday, July 25, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
There will be free bookbags filled with school supplies for every child ages 4 to 18 while supplies last.
Also, there will be free haircuts, brand new shoes, free food, and giveaways.
THE MEETING PLACE CHURCH
The Meeting Place Church is hosting a Back-to-School Bash on Saturday, August 1, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for a day of fellowship, fun, and free resources as students prepare for the new school year.
The bash will have free backpacks, and school supplies, free haircuts, career opportunities, community resources and more.
The Meeting Place Church of Greater Columbia is located at 201 Columbia Mall Blvd.
NEW BEGINNINGS OUTREACH MINISTRIES INTERNATIONAL
New Beginnings Outreach Ministries International is hosting its annual back-to-school bash on Saturday, July 25.
It is being hosted at NBOMI on 5321 Farrow Road from 12 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
There will be bounce houses, waterslides, school supplies, and more to help prepare students for the new school year.
SC FLAG FANATICZ FOOTBALL LEAGUE
SC Flag Fanaticz Football League is having an inaugural back-to-school bash for students.
At Luxe Life Event Space on 6729 Two Notch Road Ste 10, there will be book bags with supplies, new uniforms, shoes, hygiene kits, and more.
The event will take place on Sunday, August 2, at 2 p.m. for a day filled with fun, music, food, and resources to help students prepare for the new school year.
GASTON POLICE DEPARTMENT
Gaston Police Department is hosting its annual back-to-school bash for the community on Aug. 1.
From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 131 N Carlisle Street in Gaston, people in the community can enjoy bounce houses, games, snow cones, and more.
There will also be free school supplies.
SUMTER POLICE DEPARTMENT
Sumter Police Department is holding a Back-to-School Bash on Tuesday, July 28, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Birnie Hope Center.
There will be free Kona Ice, face painting and more.
FAMILY HEALTH CENTERS, INC
Family Health Centers, Inc. is hosting a Community Health & Wellness Fair/Back-to-School Bash on Saturday, July 25, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
It will be at Orangeburg City Gym at 410 Broughton Street.
The free community event will feature 500 backpacks with school supplies, 500 food boxes, free health screenings, free haircuts, more than 40 community resource vendors, family-friendly activities, giveaways, and $15 sports physicals.
