Cost of healthcare up to $185K
(CNN)– Staying healthy in retirement may cost more than ever.
New research from Fidelity looks at the average 65-year-old who retires this year.
Data finds that person will spend around $185,000 on healthcare throughout their retirement.
That’s more than 7% higher than last year driven by rising prices for care, using it more and higher costs tied to chronic conditions.
The estimate includes Medicare premiums, copays, deductibles and other medical and prescription expenses but not long-term care.
