Lexington Police continue to investigate man’s death four years later

Lexington, S.C. (WOLO)–  Police in Lexington are again asking for the community’s help in the investigation into a 2022 murder.

On July 9th of 2022, Lexington Police say Tyler Robinson was killed outside of his home at the Lauren Ridge Apartments.

Investigators say they responded to the complex on Carlen Avenue at 2am where they found Robinson, 29, shot several times.

Investigators say he was taken to the hospital where he later died.

According to police the investigation revealed several people were involved in the shooting and attacked him moments after he arrived at the complex.

Police say they believe it was a planned event and Robinson was followed from a club in Downtown Columbia.

Police say the suspects also took Robinson’s jewelry and watch and burglarized his apartment before leaving the scene.

“Four years have passed since Tyler Robinson was killed and the answer of who was involved in this homicide continues to be sought by our Criminal Investigations Division.” Chief Terrence
Green continues, “I want to let his family, friends, and those involved in his death to know that we continue to follow every new lead and that this case is still much open. We need those with
information to come forward and let justice be served.”
