Toyota recalls over 500K vehicles due to software issue
(CNN)– Toyota is recalling more than half-a-million Camrys.
The problem is a software glitch that can cause the vehicle’s instrument panel to black out when it starts up.
Federal regulators say the issue can also make signal and hazard lamps, along with some warning buzzers inoperable.
It impacts hybrid Camrys made between August 15 of 2024 to June 9 of this year.
The fix is a software update that dealers can install at no charge.
Impacted owners are expected to be notified by mail no later than September 21.
