Columbia man accused of killing auto shop owner ssentenced to life in prison

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– A Columbia man accused of killing an auto shop owner in 2024 has been sentenced to life in prison.

A Richland County jury convicted 66-year-old Michael Harper of murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

According to investigators, on July 30 of 2024, Harper confronted auto shop owner Henry Durugbor over selling him a defective truck.

During an argument Harper shot Durugbor then stood over him and shot him three more times.

Harper is being held at the Kirkland Correctional Institution.
