Google to buy Spirit Airlines data

(CNN)– Bankrupted Spirit Airlines still has something to offer and Google wants it.

The tech giant says it is buying Spirit’s massive trove of data to help improve its artificial intelligence models.

The $10 million deal includes internal emails, spreadsheets, booking, and frequent flyer information, transactions and employee data.

Google says the data has been stripped of information that could identify individual people.

Spirit halted operations in May and has been selling-off its assets through bankruptcy.
