Video surveillance helped identify Gregory Yakeim Sharper, 36, as the suspect who allegedly damaged the baseball field and mulched areas of the South Sumter Park.

Investigators say the damage was found on Monday morning, August 17.

Information gathered by officers indicates the suspect entered the gated park over the weekend on a four-wheeler, which was driven in a manner to cut “donuts” and other damage to the park’s landscape.

Sharper who has previous property crimes convictions was placed in custody Tuesday, August 18, and charged with malicious injury to property-$2,000 or less.

He was booked at the local detention center.
