SLED announces additional arrest in connection to 2025 shootings at SC State

ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)–SLED announced an additional arrest in connection to last year’s shootings at South Carolina State University.

20-year-old Javarrious Jamison is charged with possession of a firearm on school property.

According to investigators, on October 4 of 2025 two shootings broke out on campus.

19-year-old Jaliyah Butler was killed in one of the shootings and a man was injured in another.

South Carolina Law Enforcement Division has previously arrested several other suspects in connection to the shootings.

Jamison was taken to the Orangeburg County Detention Center.
