Former Columbia code enforcement employee arested, accused of assault

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– A former City of Columbia Code Enforcement employee accused of assault was arrested on Wednesday, says CPD.

According to Columbia Police, on Wednesday, August 19, the Richland County Sheriff’s Department arrested a former City of Columbia Code Enforcement employee following an altercation involving a family member at the employee’s home in the 1100 block of Landon Place Drive.

Molly Washington, 45, was arrested in connection with the incident which police say involved an alleged assault and the pointing and presenting of a gun.

After being notified of the arrest, the City of Columbia terminated Washington’s employment.
