Sumter Police investigate after local businessman accused of assault

SUMTER, S.C. (WOLO)– Sumter police are investigating after a local businessman with ties to law enforcement was charged with assault, says the police dept.

Officers were called after 2:15 a.m. Sunday, August 16, to a McCray’s Mill Road venue regarding a disturbance in which a man was accused of hitting and injuring a 30-year-old woman.

Jason Shadoan, 45, of Sumter was charged with assault and battery-3rd degree and booked at the county detention center.
