Two former guards facing charges

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Richland County deputies say two former guards are facing charges tonight.

Investigators say Jerrika Roman and Lydia Goodwin are facing charges in connection with a larger investigation into Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.

Deputies say Roman is charged with misconduct in office, conspiracy, and money laundering.

Goodwin is accused of willful destruction, sexual misconduct with an inmate 1st degree, two counts of misconduct in office, and bribery.

Deputies say the arrests stem from a larger investigation announced by Sheriff Leon Lott in June.
