Democratic Candidate Annie Andrews reiterates debate challenge to Sen. Darline Graham

COLUMBIA, SC — (WOLO) Tuesday night, Democratic Candidate Dr. Annie Andrews issued a statement following the unofficial results of the Special GOP Primary Runoff.

About her opponent, Senator Darline Graham, Andrews said:

“Tonight, Republicans nominated a candidate who was appointed to this seat because of her last name and elevated by Donald Trump’s endorsement and political machine. But no appointment, endorsement,  or family connection entitles anyone to six years in the United States Senate. This seat belongs to the people of South Carolina.

“Now Senator Graham must answer to them. I am renewing my challenge tonight: Join me for at least three televised debates across South Carolina and explain how you will lower costs, protect health care, and keep our rural hospitals open. I’ll be there. Will she?”

According to a news release from the Andrews’ campaign, Andrews had challenged both runoff candidates, Graham and Representative Ralph Norman, to a series of at least three televised debates.
