Based on preliminary investigation, detectives believe the shooting occurred following a verbal altercation, says CPD.

“This is another senseless loss of life stemming from a verbal altercation that escalated into gun violence,” says Columbia Police Chief W.H. “Skip” Holbrook. “Disagreements should never end with someone losing their life. We continue to urge members of our community to walk away, de-escalate conflict, and choose peaceful solutions rather than resorting to violence.”
