Almost 6 million new jobs predicted by 2035

(CNN)– The Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts the U.S. economy will add $5.9 million jobs by 2035.

That’s according to its 10-year employment projections released Thursday, Aug. 27.

It projects that in the decade ending in 2035, the utilities industry will see the fastest employment growth at nine-and-a-half percent.

The healthcare industry is expected to grow by 2.2 million jobs.

The latest projections show employment growing at a three-and-a-half percent rate which would mark an acceleration from the previous projection of 3.1% percent.
