Driver killed in I-20 collision in Lee County
LEE CO., S.C. (WOLO) – Highway Patrol says a driver is dead following a collision on I-20 East Wednesday night.
It happened at mile marker 109 at 11:05 p.m.
According to Master Trooper Hannah Davidson, a 2015 Chevy Silverado was travelling east when a 1998 Peterbilt tractor trailer attempted to make a lane change and struck the Chevy.
Both drivers went off the right side of the road, struck several trees and overturned.
The driver of the tractor trailer died from their injuries.
The Lee County Coroner’s Office has not released the victim’s identity as of yet.
Highway Patrol is still investigating this incident.
