Truck driver dead after Wednesday night accident

LEE COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Troopers with the SC Highway Patrol say a truck driver is dead after an accident Wednesday night (Aug. 26) in Lee County.

Officials say the driver of the tractor trailer was trying to change lanes on I-20 east at the 109 mile marker when he hit a 2015 Chevy Silverado.

Troopers say both cars ran off the road, striking trees, and overturning.

Authorities have not yet released the driver’s identity.
