Xbox players to access free digital games

(CNN)– Xbox is giving players a new way to take their physical game libraries digital.

Starting August 31st, Xbox insiders can test a feature that lets players claim a digital entitlement for supported disc-based games.

Players insert the disc into an Xbox one or Series X console and launch the game to claim it.

The digital version can then support features like Xbox ‘Play Anywhere’ and ‘Cloud Gaming’ where available.

Xbox says thousands of titles will be included with more added over time.
